During the past month, academy students in grades 3-12 visited the Musuem of Science and Industry in Chicago, the largest science museum in the Western hemisphere. Housed in a building constructed in 1893 for the World’s Colombian Exposition, it has functioned as the Museum of Science and Industry since 1933. Students saw a full-size replica coal mine, toured a German submarine (U-505) captured during WWII, a 3,500 square-foot railroad, among many other interactive exhibits.
