The students of Fairhaven Christian Academy had a day celebrating our National Anthem. They dressed in “red, white, and blue” and learned the story behind the writing of the Star-Spangled Banner. Then they heard the story of a Vietnam era POW, Mike Christian. While in captivity, he made an American flag so that his fellow POWs could pledge each day. Despite being beaten for making this flag, Mike resolutely made another one because of his love for and commitment to our flag and country.
